Lecture in CSDDD and the Omnibus package

On May 14, 2025, Zellberg held a lecture for corporate lawyers on the topic "CSDDD - What Does the EU Sustainability Directive Mean for Your Business?".The CSDDD contains requirements for companies to actively identify, prevent, mitigate, and, if necessary, cease or reduce negative impacts on human rights and the environment in their own operations as well as in their business partners' operations.

The lecture covered, among other things, the background and scope of the directive and looked closely at its purpose and application. In the subsequent discussion, we addressed exciting questions about how the participating companies are currently working with sustainability issues and risk-based due diligence, as well as what changes and challenges companies may face in the future with the implementation of the directive. Additionally, we discussed whether the directive could contribute to increased transparency in other countries where human rights violations have been reported in the supply chain. Finally, we discussed the balance between reduced administrative burden and maintained sustainability and accountability, in light of the EU's Omnibus package
